Dura-Rubber Coverage Chart

Maximum 12 mils WFT per coat

WFT (mils) DFT (mils) Coverage (sq ft/gal) Recommended For Coats Required
8 4 200 Color coats, minimal thickness 1
12 7 134 Light-duty applications 1
20 11 80 General purpose 2 (12+8)
30 16 53 Medium-duty applications 3 (12+12+6)
40 22 40 Heavy-duty applications (recommend High-Build) 4 (12+12+12+4)
60 33 27 Extreme-duty applications (recommend High-Build) 5 (12+12+12+12+12)

Recommended Applications

Application WFT (mils) DFT (mils) Coats
Deck/Patio coating 20-30 11-16 2-3 coats
Roof coating 30-40 16-22 3-4 coats
Waterproofing 40-60 22-33 4-5 coats
Repair coating 20-30 11-16 2-3 coats

* Maximum 12 mils WFT per coat. Multiple coats required for thicker applications.

* These are minimums. Additional coats may be required for demanding applications.

Notes:

  • WFT = Wet Film Thickness (thickness when applied)
  • DFT = Dry Film Thickness (final thickness after curing)
  • For heavy or extreme applications, High-Build product recommended
  • For truck beds, High-Build product recommended for better durability
  • Multiple thin coats are generally better than a single thick coat
  • Allow proper drying time between coats (typically 4-6 hours)
  • Dry time 24 hours, cure time 5-7 days minimum before can be submerged under water or exposed to chemicals
  • We can match most Benjamin Moore classic colors for custom color orders

High-Build Coverage Chart

WFT (mils) DFT (mils) Coverage (sq ft/gal) Recommended For
20 12 48 Non-slip coating applications
25 15 38 Non-slip medium-duty applications
30 18 32 Heavy-duty applications
40 24 24 Extra heavy-duty applications
50 30 19 Extreme-duty applications

Recommended Applications

Application WFT (mils) DFT (mils)
Parking decks 30-40 18-24
Industrial floors 25-35 15-21
Garage floors 20-30 12-18
High traffic areas 30-40 18-24
Truck/Trailer beds 35-45 21-27
Non-slip finishes 20-25 12-15

* These are minimums. Additional thickness may be required for demanding applications.

Notes:

  • WFT = Wet Film Thickness (thickness when applied)
  • DFT = Dry Film Thickness (final thickness after curing)
  • High-Build comes in Black only and can be top-coated with 10 mil DFT of any color
  • For orders over 100 gallons, High-Build can be custom tinted
  • For waterproofing applications, minimum of 18 DFT is recommended
  • For extreme applications, use at least 24 DFT for best results
  • For rough or porous surfaces, consider using a lower coverage rate
  • High-Build is ideal for more demanding environments and heavy traffic
  • Dry time 24 hours, cure time 5-7 days minimum before can be submerged under water or exposed to chemicals
  • Always ensure surface is properly prepared before application

Primer & Sealer Concentrate Coverage Chart

Product Coverage (sq ft/gal) Application Notes
Primer 200* Apply as thin coat for optimal adhesion
Sealer Concentrate 150-200* Apply as thin coat for optimal protection
Sealer Concentrate (20% diluted) 250-300* Dilute with 20% water to use as penetrating sealer

* Primer and Sealer Concentrate coverage may vary based on surface texture and porosity

* Straight Sealer Concentrate is an acrylic top coat to use as a penetrating sealer. Add up to 20% water.

* These are minimums. Additional coverage may be required for demanding applications.

Application Guidelines:

  • Primer: Apply to clean, dry surfaces for best adhesion
  • Sealer Concentrate: Apply after full cure of main coating (24-48 hours)
  • Both products may require additional coats on porous surfaces
  • For rough/porous surfaces, coverage may be reduced to 150-200 sq ft/gal
  • Primer improves adhesion of topcoats to difficult surfaces
  • Sealer Concentrate enhances UV protection and extends coating life
