What's Included

Dura-Rubber High-Build (3.5 Gal x 2)

A thicker, tougher version of the original Dura-Rubber, this base coat (up to 30 mils wet) is designed to withstand cracking and foot traffic, providing a single, waterproof layer that resists wear while remaining slip-resistant and easy to roll or trowel on.

3.5 gal / 13.25 liters

Crumb Rubber Mix (4 Bags)

This rubber aggregate is added to the High-Build for extra durability. When blended at roughly ½–1 lb per gallon, it gives your stall floor added thickness and traction, helping it withstand daily hoof impact and reducing wear.

6 lbs

All-Purpose Liquid Rubber Primer

Essential for proper adhesion, this primer ensures the High-Build sticks securely to concrete, wood, or other substrates. It preps the surface to prevent peeling or bonding issues, especially over porous or irregular materials.

1 gal / 3.785 liters

Reinforcement Fabric Roll

Used in high-stress areas like wall-floor seams or corners, this polyester fabric embeds into the wet High-Build to reinforce joints, preventing cracks and water intrusion—keeping your stall surface seamless and long-lasting.

50 ft.

How to Use Your Complete Barn Kit

Step 1:

Prep the Stall Floor

Sweep and remove all manure, hay, and debris.

Degrease or pressure wash if needed.

Let the surface dry completely (moisture prevents adhesion).

Tape off walls and edges with painter’s tape and plastic.

Step 2:

Apply the Primer on Floor

Roll or brush a thin coat of primer across the entire floor.

Let it dry 4–6 hours until tack-free.
(This ensures the High-Build bonds permanently to wood or concrete.)

Step 3:

Mix the High-Build for Floor

Stir thoroughly with a drill + paddle.

Never use water — only mix in propylene glycol if you need more flow time.

Step 6:

Apply Fabric (1 Roll)

Apply fabric where the floor meets the walls (wall-to-floor) and on seams or cracks.

Use a thin coat of High-Build in those areas, embed the fabric into it, and apply a topcoat over it.

Step 7:

Mix the High-Build for Mats

Stir thoroughly with a drill + paddle.

Never use water — only mix in propylene glycol if you need more flow time.

Step 8:

Apply the High-Build

First Coat: Use a roller or notched squeegee/trowel to spread evenly with no puddles. Let dry 12–24 hours. Do not apply in direct sun or strong wind.

Second Coat: Apply with a squeegee/trowel or locked roller for seamless coverage. Keep a wet edge while applying.

Final Touch: Pay extra attention to seams, edges, and high-traffic areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will this floor last?

With proper surface prep and the right application, expect a 5-10 year lifespan before needing a touch-up. The High-Build’s 60% solids formula creates a durable, flexible seal that stands up to frequent use.

Can I thin it if it’s too thick?

Yes—just use propylene glycol (up to 5%), not water. This will improve flow and open-time, help avoid cracking during cure, and is great for hot or dry applications.

When should I use the reinforcement fabric?

When working on seams, corners, or high-stress joints—like wall intersections or floor-to-wall transitions—embed the fabric into the wet base coat, then topcoat over it. It significantly reduces cracking and water intrusion.

Is Dura-Rubber safe and eco-friendly?

Absolutely. It’s non-toxic, low-VOC, and even fish-safe, making it ideal for indoor stalls, equestrian facilities, and eco-conscious spaces.

Why choose Dura-Rubber over traditional sealants?

Unlike brittle silicones—or complex epoxies—Dura-Rubber remains flexible, resists peeling, and applies easily like paint. It also provides better UV protection and long-term durability.

What surfaces can I coat?

Dura-Rubber bonds to nearly anything: concrete, wood, metal, fiberglass, vinyl, and more—making it a versatile solution for stalls, decks, roofs, and beyond. Primer may be needed on some surfaces.

Roll on a thick rubber coating for your barn.
