MOCO restaurant kitchen floor
Kitchen floor was failing
“After trying a typical garage floor paint on the kitchen floor that failed within a year. The Guys at MOCO needed a tough durable and easy to clean floor coating. They were only closed Monday and Tuesday so the work would need to be done in two days.
They divided the kitchen into a two a application process so they would have as little down time withe the restaurant as possible. .
The first week they moved all the equipment to one side of the kitchen did their work. Than repeated the process the next week when they were close.
The floor was in very poor condition
First they installed a new sub floor of 3/4" OSB over the existing floor after making sure the old floor was good clean.
THEY DID THREE DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS
a 20MIL COAT with 6" fabric
In the storage area they applied the 6" fabric to the seams and the wall to floor transitions. This would give them a tough waterproof membrane.
In the main prep area that gets a lot of foot and cart traffic they applied a full fabric embed in the Dura-Rubber.
a Coat of Dura-Rubber with rubber aggergate
“They next applied a coat of Dura-Rubber with 2 quarts of rubber aggregate per gallon of Dura-Rubber let dry for about two hours using fans to speed up the dry time. They topped that with one coat of straight Dura-Rubber. The final coating thickness was 50mil they completed it in a two day application.
In front of the kitchen line & dish washing area they applied a thick coat of trowel grade
“Mixing the Dura-Rubber 3-4 quarts of aggregate to a gallon of Dura Rubber they troweled on a 20mil coat.
